Software Engineer

Develop telematics services in a wireless mobile environment.  Work in a team to design, develop, test, and maintain telematics software platform.

Skills/Experience

*        B.S. in Computer Science or related field, M.S. in Computer Science strongly preferred

*        3-5 years of SW development, programming background - preferably in a Linux/Unix environment

*        Java software development experience in a Unix/Linux environment - candidates with strong Linux programming background are preferred

*        Good understanding and foundation in Object Oriented Design techniques

*        Java experience: JDK 1.5, JSP, Servlets, JAXB, XML, JSTL

*        Server knowledge: Apache/Tomcat, JBoss, Glassfish web server

*        Web technology knowledge: HTTP, HTML, SOAP, WSDL, JavaScript

*        Expertise in TCP/IP and related protocols - theoretical and also practical

*        Database knowledge: Writing simple SQL and Stored Procedures, JDBC Hibernate

*        Experience with version control software such as SVN, CVS, etc; experience with IDE such as Eclipse

*        Strong background in data structure, algorithms, cross-platform programming

*        Knowledge of scripting language, especially Python (or Perl)

*        Knowledge of Serial Communications (RS-232), modems, etc

*        Practical knowledge of SIP, Asterisk, and VoIP

*        Experience in processing voluminous real-time data

*        Excellent oral and written communication skills

*        Initiative to research and learn emerging technologies
