Innovation
Delivering an easy-to-use service platform, using the most advanced technology
ATX understands that connected vehicle solutions must be:
- auto-centric: where car data is a crucial part of the delivered functionality (e.g., in a breakdown call, including the position of the vehicle and diagnostics data so that first responders have enough information to provide the best assistance)
- location-centric: where the exact location of the car is needed in order to provide the right information the driver expects (e.g., if the driver needs the location of and directions to the nearest pharmacy)
- user-centric: when the user is defining the specific needs that he has during the driving experience (e.g., customizing location-based data or song flagging)
At ATX, innovation means:
- enabling auto-centric services in the most comfortable and easiest way for the driver, by providing the right information needed in critical situations
- opening the service platform in the car to a world of location- or user-centric services, to offer access to real-time information and applications in multiple ways – enriching the overall driving experience
- offering flexible eCall programmes in either of the approaches recognised by the EU commission (public eu112 eCall or third-party service provider eCall) or a solution that combines aspects of both recognized approaches that allows for data and voice to be transmitted to a single TSP with European-wide coverage (view a white paper on ATX's self-dispatching eCall approach)
ATX has a history of innovation relating to connected vehicle services. We were the first telematics service provider in Europe and North America to bring the Internet into the car via an online in-car portal, the first to provide connected navigation through point-of-interest download to in-vehicle navigation system, and developed the first online user manual (patented and accessible completely via voice response technology).
With more than one million subscribers, we have a proven record in aggregating and managing location-related content (e.g., hotels, restaurants, traffic, speed cameras), non-location related content (e.g., news, stock information, user-defined Internet snapshots, user-defined RSS feeds) and graphical content (e.g., Web cams, stock charts, weather radar, pictures) for a Pan-European portfolio.
Through technology supported by ATX, drivers gain access to real-time information and applications in multiple ways, to enrich their overall driving experience.
