As a pioneer in the telematics industry, ATX developed one of the first automotive telematics programs. Since then, we’ve created more customized solutions for drivers than anyone else. (* denotes a telematics technology first) 1994 1996 * ATX introduces the first personal vehicle tracking device in the automotive after-market. 1997 1998 1999 ATX partners with Jaguar to introduce the Jaguar Assist telematics program. * ATX teams with Garmin International to introduce the first wireless device in the marketplace to offer telematics services. ATX Technologies combines with Protection One Mobile Services to become the second largest telematics service provider in North America. 2000 * ATX develops the first Web-based in-car information service in partnership with Mercedes-Benz Tele Aid. ATX launches interactive speech recognition technology integrated with telematics services. ATX announces a strategic alliance with Siebel Systems, a leading provider of customer relationship management services. 2001 * ATX launches the first nationwide deployment of location-based, real-time traffic with Mercedes-Benz Tele Aid. * ATX and Mercedes-Benz launch the first nationwide deployment of in-vehicle interactive speech recognition technology. * BMW selects ATX to provide its second-generation BMW Assist telematics program in the first industry transfer of an account from one telematics provider to another. 2002 2003 * ATX introduces with Mercedes-Benz the first direct telematics connection from vehicle to automotive dealerships. ATX Europe is officially formed as a company. Telematics service is launched with Maybach. ATX acquires Vodafone PASSO GmbH. ATX announces a multi-year agreement with Rolls-Royce Motor Cars NA, LLC, to provide telematics services in North America. ATX announces launch with BMW of vRM in Europe. ATX announces agreement with French automaker Peugeot Citroen Autobmobiles, SA, to provide telematics services to Peugeot and Citroen automobiles beginning in January 2005. 2004 2005 ATX opens its second facility in Irving, Texas, a customer care center. * ATX introduces the first driver interactive voice application (DIVA), extending the use of telematics for remote activation of vehicle functions. 2006 2007 ATX launches first services with PSA Peugeot Citroën in France.
ATX is established as a privately held company in San Antonio, Texas.
* Lincoln RESCU, the first in-vehicle consumer telematics program in the world, is launched in partnership with Ford Motor Company and Motorola on the Lincoln Continental.
* Automatic collision notification (ACN) is introduced within the Lincoln RESCU.
ATX launches a telematics partnership with Nissan Motor Corporation's Infiniti division.
* ATX teams with Mercedes-Benz to introduce Tele Aid, the first consumer-based, in-vehicle telematics program to become standard equipment across all model lines of a vehicle manufacturer.
Vodafone, Plc., Europe's largest wireless telecommunications firm, purchases a major equity stake in ATX.
ATX interactive speech recognition technology is selected as the recipient of the Sixth Annual Automotive Interior International Design and Technology Award.
* ATX launches telematics-based vehicle relationship management (vRM).
ATX becomes the first telematics service provider to generate a profit for an entire quarter of operation (fourth quarter 2002).
ATX dedicates new European telematics center in Düsseldorf, Germany. ATX extends telematics services into Italy.
* ATX introduces the first interactive voice response-based owner’s manual.
ATX expands service coverage to Austria.
ATX and SK Telecom of Korea announce an agreement to deliver telematics services to China.
