Cross Country's Berkery Moves to ATX to Help Lead OEM Telematics
DALLAS-FORT WORTH, OCTOBER 15, 2008 - ATX Group, the world’s largest telematics services provider to the global automotive industry, today announced that Niall Berkery will help lead ATX’s OEM sales efforts in North America, a responsibility he previously held with Cross Country Automotive Services (Cross Country), based in Medford, Mass. Cross Country purchased ATX on September 15, 2008, and immediately consolidated its telematics initiatives within ATX.
As vice president of Sales, Berkery will remain based in Detroit and will share responsibilities for sales strategy, business development and customer program execution with current ATX Vice President of Sales Greg Corley, who will retain that title as well.
“The market for telematics in North America is exploding so we needed a peer to Greg to ensure we always have a high-level focus with each OEM,” said Steve Millstein, ATX president. “Niall gives us a continuous presence in Detroit. He also worked in Japan for six years and is fluent in Japanese, enabling us to develop and solidify our relationships with clients in the Asian market.”
Berkery joined Cross Country in November 2006, to develop its telematics business. Prior to that, he was vice president of Product Planning for Pioneer Electronics’ automotive OEM division, promoting navigation and mobile electronic technologies to global carmakers. A native of Ireland, he began his career designing car stereos in Japan before holding a variety of positions in program management, sales, business development and product planning in both Japan and the U.S.
Berkery holds a degree in electrical and electronic engineering from the Dublin Institute of Technology in Ireland.
