David Friedman Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer
David Friedman is executive vice president and chief marketing officer for ATX. He joined the company in this role in January 2007 and is responsible for development and marketing of ATX’s “T3” (third-generation of automotive telematics services), as well as the expansion of services to connected devices and related markets.
Friedman joined ATX from The Boeing Company, where he was the top marketing officer for its Connexion global internet business unit, which provided communications and entertainment services to airplanes, executive jets and ships. As vice president of Marketing and Direct Sales for Connexion, one of his key achievements was the commercialization of in-flight wireless Internet access on board the planes of 12 commercial aviation partners in Europe, the Middle East and Asia/Pacific.
Prior to Boeing, he was a consultant to several broadband wireless companies, including a stint as an interim vice president of Marketing for a Seattle-based, global Internet company. Between 1995 and 2001, he was vice president of Marketing for U.S. Cellular in Chicago.
Friedman holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from City College of New York, a master's degree in electrical engineering from Columbia University and a master’s of business administration degree with a specialization in economics from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
